Legacy Behavioral Health Services is hiring individuals with a passion for making a difference in their community! We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner to work in the Lowndes Mental Health Clinic. The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing psychotherapy and medication evaluation and management to a range of clients having mental illness, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse diagnosis under the supervision of a psychiatrist(s). The position also provides evaluation, treatment planning and discharge- planning services for individuals in and inpatient and/or outpatient clinic(s).

This position requires:

• Current licensure in the state of GA
• Appropriate DEA licensure to include scheduled drugs preferred.
• Successful completion of an accredited Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Program OR Psychiatric Mental Health Certification required within 24 months of employment.
• Ability to formulate diagnosis based on examination, assessment and test results.
• Ability to interpret test results, identify deviations from norms, and intervene or make appropriate referrals.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team of health care professionals.
• Ability to assess, plan for, and provide basic nursing skills.
• Ability to prescribe medications as part of a treatment plan gaining physician approval when needed.
• Knowledge of assessment tools, interviewing, and examination techniques.
• Knowledge of HIPAA.
• Knowledge regarding agreed upon practices and protocols.
• Knowledge of procedures including developing, implementing and revising plan of care. Documentation skills meeting legal and professional standards; maintaining records appropriately.
