Legacy Behavioral Health Services is hiring individuals with a passion for making a difference in their community! We are seeking a Certified Addiction Counselor to work in our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) program. Under general supervision of the ACT Manager, the Certified Addiction Counselor provides evaluation and therapeutic services to adults with co-occurring disorders in a clinic and in the community. Responsibilities include completion of complex psychosocial assessments, treatment team participation, treatment planning/monitoring and discharge planning. Provides individual, family and group counseling to consumers and their families.

This position requires:- Master’s Degree in social work, psychology, or counseling with a supervised clinical practicum
- Eligible for licensure with the Georgia Composite Board as a LAPC, LMSW, LAMFT, LPC, LCSW OR LMFT
- Two years of full time experience involving direct client contact such as therapy, case management, intake assessments and crisis screening; preferred
- Someone who is dedicated to quality work
- Someone who is a self-starter and goal orientated
- A valid Georgia driver’s license with no more than 6 points (are we running an MVR on them?)
- Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, conflict resolution, and teamwork
- Computer experience

Working Conditions:Must be physically and emotionally fit to work in a stress-filled environment to meet deadlines and deal with routine and crisis situations. May have extended periods of sitting, walking, and standing. Requires varying hours of duty to provide monitoring, educational and/or crisis handling, as well as travel to off campus locations in LBHS or personal vehicle.
Physical Demands-
Sit, walk, and stand: may spend up to twenty-five percent of working time standing/walking. Lift, carry, push, pull: generally not more than ten pounds of force is needed to lift, carry push, or pull objects. Bend, stoop, and kneel: occasional bending and kneeling may be required in troubleshooting equipment/assisting clients. Manual dexterity/wrist and hand repetitions: good manual and finger dexterity is needed; up to seventy-five percent of working time may be spent using a computer keyboard. Vision, hearing, speaking: must have good visual acuity and depth perception to operate the computer system; speaking and hearing are essential to the communication needs of the position
Environmental Conditions-
Moving mechanical parts are found in the work environment. Work is performed in a well-lighted, temperature-controlled, and humidity-controlled environment. May be requested on occasion to travel to another work site. Must be able to make arrangements to attend these as required.
