Legacy at College Hill is Hiring a Dietary Aid Near Wichita, KS

Purpose Of This Position

Under supervision of the Dietary Services Manager andon-site direction of the Cook, the Dietary Assistant provides support in thedelivery of dietary services. Functions within strictly defined written proceduresand verbal instructions with little or no latitude for variation or change.

Essential Functions

Food Preparation and Serving

  1. Perform various food preparation/covering/labeling tasks as assigned.
  2. Prepare food service carts accurately and timely.
  3. Serve meals to residents, in accordance with established schedules, dietary procedures, and residents’ rights/quality of life principles.
  4. Assist in the delivery of nourishment to specified residents as scheduled.
  5. Assist in maintaining meal cards accurately and orderly, making changes as directed.
  6. Assist in maintaining dry storage areas by monitoring temperatures and handling the unpacking, dating, and rotating of food and non-food supplies as directed.
  7. Assist in the proper care, use and cleaning of kitchen equipment.

Dishwashing and Cleaning

  1. Scrape/empty soiled dishes, disposing of waste according to procedure.
  2. Properly load dish machine and operate automated dishwashing system.
  3. Record proper operating temperatures and sanitizing agent parts per million.
  4. Supervise travel of dishes through dish machine.
  5. Unload dish machine and sorts clean dishes.
  6. Wash/sanitize items by hand as necessary.
  7. Transport clean dishes and place in proper storage areas.
  8. Sanitize steam tables and dishwashing counters/surfaces after each meal, and maintains dishwashing area in clean, orderly condition.
  9. Bag and dispose of garbage according to established procedure.

Qualifications

Education/Certification/License

  • Completion of approved Food, Safety and Sanitation Study Course.
  • Completion of Arbor Springs Dietary Orientation which could include training on modified diets.

Experience

  • Demonstrated skills in quantity food preparation and service is preferred.

Skills/Abilities

  • Functional Literacy in written and spoken English.
  • Proficient interpersonal relationships and communication skills. Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Complete assignments timely, completely and accurately.
