About Us
The Lee Steinberg Law Firm is a plaintiff personal injury law firm in Southfield, MI. We are a looking for a dedicated and professional bookkeeper.
This position requires extensive knowledge and use of QuickBooks software. The applicant must be able to multi-task, have great attention to detail and MUST have prior experience as a bookkeeper. You are required to perform as all regular daily bookkeeping responsibilities timely and accurately. This includes:
Duties:
· Use of QuickBooks for accounting and reconciliation
· Report payroll and attorney bonuses
· Journal payroll into QuickBooks
· Use Peachtree software to process insurance checks, process client checks, reconcile case costs and fees
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the organization
· Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of transactions
· Use Excel for settlement statements, cost recovery, attorney bonuses, advertising reporting and special reports
· Handle disbursements of client checks, costs and fees, liens, referral fees
· Enroll new employees and keep track of employee days off
· Handle Blue Cross Blue Shield paperwork
· Order office supplies and prepare reporting for CPA
Experience:
· Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a small business or similar environment
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Experience with general ledger reconciliation and account analysis
· Overseeing and managing all aspects of small business office operations
· Associates degree in business or equivalent
Skills:
· Attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in financial records.
· The ability to prioritize and multi-task
· Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
· Handle confidential information with integrity and discretion
