DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Service Advisor is the primary liaison between the Service Department and its customers. Automotive Service Advisors are responsible for assisting their customers with service and maintenance needs and insuring the customers’ continued satisfaction with the dealership. The primary duties and responsibilities include:
Promptly greeting customers at their vehicle on the service drive.
Perform vehicle walk around, gather customer information, and identify primary concern. Clearly report all vehicle symptoms as described by the customer.
Reviewing vehicle repair histories and verifying the need for maintenance and/or manufacturer recalls
Promoting the sales of labor, parts and accessories: Prepare a complete and accurate estimate of cost for parts and labor.
Establishing and communicating an accurate promise time
Monitoring the progress of each vehicle throughout the day and updating customers as needed
Verifying the final invoice reconciles with the work performed on the repair order, Contacting the customer to advise of completion.
Explaining all completed work and charges to customers
Cashier customers, taking payment via cash, check or credit card.
QUALIFICATIONS:
At a minimum, the Service Advisor should have the following qualifications:
Basic product knowledge
Customer relation skills
Service sales skills
Communication skills in person, writing and over the telephone (ability to assist the customer in expressing all service needs and communicating those needs in a way that is acceptable to the customer and understandable to the Technicians)
Basic business math skills
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
In addition to personal goals established during the annual performance reviews, this employee’s performance will be evaluated against the following performance standards:
Personal customer satisfaction survey results are at, or above, district averages.
Personal sales are at, or above, established goals.
The Service Consultant’s work is kept neat, clean and presentable.
Punctuality in reporting to work.
