WATER TREATMENT OPERATOR I, II, III, or TRAINEE

The Lee County Utilities Authority is seeking a licensed Water Treatment Operator. In lieu of licensed
candidates, the Authority will consider the placement of a trainee. Successful candidates will possess a
high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver’s license. If the candidate does not possess a valid State of
Georgia-issued Water Treatment Operator’s license, that license must be obtained within one year of
employment.
This position is full-time and will include holidays and overtime pay. The presence of certain chemicals in
this facility requires attention to detail and the proper usage of protective wear. Operators must be able
to ascend and descend stairs and ladders, lift objects to 70 lbs., and be able to manipulate hands and
fingers. Legible handwriting is a must.
Duties include conducting analysis in a laboratory setting, calculating chemical dosages and
adding/adjusting chemical feeds, monitoring water wells, and equipment, maintaining clear and accurate
records, and the operation of computers, pumps, and hand tools.
The following qualifications may award preference during the selection process:
Possession of an Associate’s Degree or higher
A familiarity with chemistry and/or water treatment principles
Experience in facilities maintenance (pumps, motors, and electrical equipment)
