This is a 181-day position. The candidate will work when students are in school, it is an hourly position and is paid for time worked. The starting rate for an LPN is $20.65/hour, RN is $22.65/hour.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
LPN/RN
POSITION TITLE: LPN/RN
POSITION DESCRIPTION: The LPN/RN in the Lebanon School District is employed to function under the direction of the Certified School Nurse (CSN) to implement assigned and delegated duties of the school health program. This may include screenings, record keeping, and/or treating ill or injured students and staff.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: The LPN/RN must hold a current professional license. Either a Registered or Practical nursing license in the state of Pennsylvania is acceptable. A current CPR and AED certificate is also required.
POSITION REPORTABILITY:
The LPN/RN reports directly to the CSN and the building principal.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works with and under the supervision of the CSN to implement School Health Services.
1. Performs clinical nursing skills within the standards of the Nurse Practice Act.
2. Administers first aid and conducts initial assessment of student/staff regarding complaints of illness according to district policy and procedures.
3. Administers proper medication to students according to district policy.
4. Performs auditory, visual, height and weight screenings with follow-up at the directions of the certified school nurse.
5. Assists with clerical documentation required by the Department of Health (ie. immunizations, physicals, dental...).
6. Assists with state mandate programs (ie. schedule coordination, set-up, clean-up) under direction of certified school nurse.
7. Performs other related duties as directed by the certified school nurse, building principal.
