Lebanon High School is Hiring an ELL Teacher Near Lebanon, NH

Job Overview:
The Lebanon High School is seeking a ELL Teacher to join the team for the 2024-2025 school year and beyond. The English Language Learner (ELL) teacher provides English language development instruction to children who are acquiring English as an additional language, working collaboratively with other instructional personnel, including a district-wide team of ELL teachers, to meet the individual needs of each child. Required activities include planning and delivering lessons, collaborating with classroom teachers and specialists, administering formative and summative assessments, and completing documentation as applicable in accordance with state of NH guidelines.

Job Responsibilities:
• Demonstrates knowledge of first and second language acquisition theory.
• Demonstrates knowledge of second language learning patterns and best practices in English language development.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary in evaluating individual learning styles and needs, which results in planning an appropriate course of study for individual students.
• Plans and delivers lessons in English language development.
• Collaborates with classroom teachers and specialists to ensure achievement of ELLs across content areas.
• Administers formative and summative assessments to monitor progress and ensure student achievement.
• Reflects an awareness and acceptance of cultural differences exhibited by the students and their families.
• Possesses those characteristics necessary for acting as an advocate for limited English-speaking students within the school system.
• Possesses the skills necessary for serving as a liaison between the school and the home.
• Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate with classroom teachers, administration and families.
• Possesses and utilizes those personal skills necessary for the improvement of student attitudes toward learning and school.
• Remain in school after dismissal of students, as necessary to complete daily duties, attend meetings, hold parent conferences, etc.
• Follow school regulations regarding emergency procedures.
• Report to work daily at times assigned and remain on duty through time prescribed.
• Responsible for submitting and justifying budget recommendations to Building Principal or designee.
• Meet with parents as required to advise them concerning student needs and progress.
• Interpret school policies and programs to students and parents.
• Responsible for performing those duties which protect the health and safety of students and employees.
• Responsible for performing other job-related duties as assigned by the Building Principal.

Requirements:
• NH ESOL Certification.
• Bachelor’s degree in education with a focus in English Language is preferred.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 15 pounds. Specific vision ability required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Pay:
Based on LEA Collective Bargaining Agreement Salary Schedule.
