Job description

Learning Sciences, LLC is looking for a full stack developer with an emphasis on front-end skills. This job will entail writing a new mobile-first frontend for an existing application as well as helping to maintain and update both the front end and back end of this and other applications within the company.

Responsibilities:

· Design, develop, and maintain the frontend for a mobile-first web application using an SPA framework.

· Collaborate with the product team to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and implementation plans.

· Implement responsive and accessible UI components and features that provide an outstanding user experience across various devices and screen sizes.

· Optimize application performance and ensure fast load times through efficient coding practices.

· Conduct thorough testing (automated and ad hoc) to ensure application meets requirements.

· Collaborate with back-end developers and integrate front-end components with the application's API endpoints.

· Help maintain and update existing applications.

· Act as a secondary developer for backend code and relational databases.

· Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in front-end development and UX design, and apply them to enhance the application's usability and visual appeal.

Qualifications:

· Demonstrated experience in developing mobile-first web applications with a focus on exceptional user experiences.

· Familiarity with UI/UX design principles and the ability to collaborate effectively with visual and graphic designers.

· Solid experience in front-end web development with expertise in Angular, React, or similar frameworks.

· Strong knowledge of JavaScript (ES6 ), HTML5, and CSS3, and proficiency in building responsive layouts.

· Experience working with RESTful APIs and asynchronous data fetching techniques.

· Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Cypress).

· Understanding of the difference between unit and end to end testing.

· Experience working with relational databases (e.g. SQL Server, MySQL)

· Proficient understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git).

· Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to work effectively in a team environment.

· 5 years of front end development experience using Angular, React, or similar frameworks.

· 3 years of back end development experience in .Net and/or PHP with relational databases.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience with state management libraries such as Redux.

· Knowledge of server-side rendering and SEO optimization techniques.

· Understanding of performance optimization techniques, such as code splitting and lazy loading.

· Experience with build tools such as Webpack or Babel.

· Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools (e.g. AWS CodePipeline).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
