The State Board for Educator Certification will require all first time applicants for an initial credential to be fingerprinted as part of a national criminal background check. A cost of up to $49.00 will be charged for fingerprinting. PRIMARY PURPOSE: To develop and coordinate a comprehensive career development system for the successful transition of high school students into post-secondary opportunities. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Maintain and improve existing Programs of Study/Endorsements.
Coordinate senior-exit survey process.
Coordinate COOL Week.
Revise and modify MAPS/Professional Communications curriculum as needed.
Train teachers in curriculum areas when needed, specifically MAPS/Professional Communications.
Coordinate campus activities for MAPS such as student-led parent conference and Texas Scholars presentation.
Serve as Career and Technical Education Department Head which includes CTE coding and career development activities.
Develop business partnership through participation with various industry groups which includes serving as campus coordinator for CTE advisory boards.
Coordinate all aspects of ACC’s Dual Credit program which includes dual credit, co-enrollment and articulated college credit.
Work with counselors to coordinate ACC’s college admission and enrollment process.
Coordinate Texas Success Initiative (TSI) assessment and ASVAB.
Coordinate and modify all activities associated with the Texas Scholars recognition program.
Work with counselors to support transition activities such as financial aid, college applications, career advising, letters of recommendation, PSAT administration, Senior Summit, freshman camps, graduation, parent information nights, etc.
Keep appropriate data to analyze and improve successful transition of students.
Supporting campus principals and teachers in meeting program/campus/district goals.
Development and revise marketing materials such as brochures, posters, course catalogs, career guides, etc.
Demonstrate regular and prompt attendance to ensure a consistent focus on student learning.
Perform other duties as assigned.

GENERAL QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES Education/Certification/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree from accredited university. Master’s degree with emphasis in counseling, mid-management or curriculum & instruction preferred.
Valid Texas teaching certificate preferred.
Experience in student transition or counseling programs.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
Skill in organizational, public relations, communication and technology.
Ability to provide meaningful/research-based leadership/training for teachers and collaborate with teachers, other coordinators, principals, and various district staff.
