Leak Detection Technologies is Hiring a Field Technician Near Tucson, AZ

Anticipated Entry on Duty: Immediately

Leak Detection Technologies invites highly motivated, science and detailed minded individuals to be trained in the position of Testing Technician. The successful applicant will be trained to perform the most innovative leak detection techniques offered worldwide. Leak Detection Technologies, has invented and is inventing the most sensitive EPA approved testing methods and is looking to train additional technicians in these arts. Prior experience is not required.

Duties

Summary

Hiring entry-level field technician for environmental containment testing. You will be trained onsite by the world’s leading company in leak testing innovation and technologies to learn the trade. You will be expected to travel all over the country and beyond, to perform tests in the field--detecting leaks from pipelines, refineries, fuel tanks, etc. to ensure safe operations in the petroleum and fuel industry.

Responsibilities

Leak Detection Technology Technician Duties: As an Enhanced Leak Detection (ELD) Technician, you will serve as a member of a team conducting leak detection activities. Must be able to travel by air and vehicle. Work responsibilities include traveling to sites, performing various leak detection tests, collecting field data, taking digital images, managing databases for data entry, and communicating with the clients. Must be able to use computer software and database applications. Heavy lifting will be required occasionally. You may work independently or as a member of a team.

Travel Required

  • Regular travel – you will be expected to travel for this position.
  • Must be able to drive and have a driver’s license.
  • Must have or be able to get a passport.
  • Must have no criminal history and be able to pass background tests to get on high tech sites

Minimum 24 years old

Education

High-school diploma

Science based College Degree preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and especially in Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and work well with others.
  • Ability to acquire new skills and work independently.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Required Documents

The following documents are required and must be submitted:

  • Resume which includes a list of all significant jobs held and duties performed. If military or civilian, please include your rank and/or grade.

  • If you are a veteran within 120 days of discharge, you must submit signed documentation from the Armed Forces certifying: 1) your expected release/retirement from active duty, 2) under honorable conditions, 3) your pay grade/rank/rate at time of discharge, 4) dates of active duty service, 5) any campaign or expeditionary medals received, & 6) dated within 120 days of your separation.
  • If you are a Disabled Veteran, Purple Heart Recipient, or Mother or Spouse of a Disabled or Deceased Veteran, you must submit all additional proof required by the SF15, and if applicable, a completed SF15. You may request a copy of your Department of Veterans Affairs letter from www.ebenefits.va.govor call 1-800-827-1000 to establish proof of disability.

Conditions of Employment

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
  • You will be required to operate a motor vehicle as part of your official duties. Prior to your first official motor vehicle operation, and again every year thereafter (or more frequently if management determines such need exists), you will be required to sign an affidavit certifying to your possession of a valid State-issued driver's license that is current and has not been revoked, suspended, canceled, or otherwise disqualified in any way to prohibit your operation of a motor vehicle. You will also submit a photocopy of your valid State issued driver's license prior to your first official motor vehicle operation, and again every year, or more frequently if management determines such need exists. Please indicate in your application whether you possess a valid State driver's license.
  • You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and shift work.
  • You will be required to travel overnight away from home.
  • Applicants must be at least 24 years old and: (a) Have graduated from high school or been awarded a certificate equivalent to graduating from high school; or (b) Have completed a formal vocational training program; or (c) Have received a statement from school authorities agreeing with their preference for employment rather than continuing their education.

Job Type: Full-time

Starting Annual Income: $38,000.00 to - $49,400.00 per year

Lead Technician Income: $65,000.00 to $91,000.00 plus per year

Work Remotely:

  • Almost all the work required by this position is performed remotely. Field technicians can expect to be in the field for 3 weeks at a time with a week of time off between trips.
