Description

Leading MD’s operates full-service medical and behavioral health clinics along with providing care to twenty skilled nursing facilities in the Phoenix metropolitan area. Our Providers have decades of clinical experience, and we cover internal medicine, psychiatric and many other medical specialties. We provide inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing, and telemedicine services. Our multi-disciplinary team is patient centric and dedicated to improving the long-term health and well-being of every patient we serve.

We are hiring a Medical Records/ Prior Authorizations Specialist to serve as the point of contact for all internal and external requests for medical records, including release of information and electronic health record scanning. 

  • Responds to all requests for medical record information from various requestors including health care providers, patients, attorneys, third-party payors, disability, subpoenas, and internal requestors. Process requests from start to finish.
  • Ensures confidentiality of Release of Information in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) federal regulations, state regulations and Leading MDs policy.
  • Analyze medical records and information to ensure compliance with HIPAA, state, federal and CHS Privacy Policies for release of documentation.
  • Notify providers to request approval for release of documents per policies and via the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

 Schedule:

  • 8-hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Full- Time

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1 years of professional experience with medical records.
  • Experience in Skilled Nursing Facility and Psychiatry, and Transitional Care Management (preferred)
  • High school diploma.
  • 1 year of customer service experience.
  • Familiar with federal and state laws and regulations concerning medical records, including HIPAA Standards.
  • Excellent organizational skills and able to work in a team centered environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with other departments, physicians, and all ancillary staff. Must be able to relate well to people both inside and outside the organization; build appropriate rapport; use diplomacy and tact; can diffuse high-tension situations.
  • Strong computer skills with emphasis on Adobe PDF, MS Office Word, and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual
  • Electronic medical records experience
  • Prior Authorizations experience

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

  • Medical records: 2 years (Required)
  • customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Adobe PDF, MS Office Word, and Excel: 1 year (Preferred)
