Lead - Advisor is a consulting and search firm specializing in wealth management. This role is for a client firm.

We are helping our client in Midtown, hire a Planning and Insurance Associate.

Our client offers Certified Financial Planning, a comprehensive approach to wealth management, and personal planning with a team-based/family office environment.

Job Description:

The Planning & Insurance Associate is responsible for executing the firm’s planning and insurance processes. This role will support and be mentored by the senior associates and directors for the Planning & Insurance department.

Responsibilities:

· Execute the firm’s financial planning process, including PX assumptions, template, concept pages, and alternate scenarios

· Execute the firm’s insurance planning process by generating illustrations, creating recommendations, and updating existing recommendations. Support advisors in providing illustrations, examples, and research needed to answer questions about existing insurance policies.

· Prepare advisors for close meetings by explaining integrated planning observations PX/insurance analysis, etc. as needed and serving as a resource before meetings

· Oversee all Home Office full support programs to ensure the home office is adequately assisting with the firm’s planning and insurance input work.

· Responsible for knowledge and understanding of company's entire suite of insurance products, including life, disability, long-term care insurance, and annuities.

Firm Leadership and Development:

· Supports the Director of Planning & Insurance to provide detailed financial planning recommendations for A /A clients. Initiate and run lists when necessary to target clients who are suitable for a particular planning idea, both revenue and non-revenue-generating

· Supports the Director of Planning & Insurance on collaboration with the Investment Management team on select takeover proposals by providing written financial planning recommendations derived from PX and/or critical thinking based on the client’s situation

· Supports the Director of Planning and Insurance in reviewing Financial Planning Assumptions with the firm on a semi-annual basis and outlines any proposed changes in the form of a presentation

· Supports the Director of Planning & Insurance on quarterly planning update meetings for advisors to provide an open platform for the firm regarding key planning initiatives and industry ideas

· Supports senior associates to create new insurance sales ideas and assist with complex insurance case design

· Assist with written briefs on all client-relevant planning ideas on a suite of services document and other ideas as needed

· Assist department with retirement distribution program, run all A clients in retirement income phase through software, and manage client database

· Assist with detailed social security analysis for new and existing A clients in retirement income phase

· Prepare senior associates for occasional client meetings and provide advisors with client-ready e-mails as needed

· Assist senior associates with collaboration with the home office’s advanced planning team and PX product development team on a regular basis

Valued Qualities:

· A strong self-starter who willingly takes the initiative, accepts responsibility, is able to analyze complex data and information and summarize in a concise manner

· Strong organizational skills and utmost attention to detail

· A strong track record of effectively leading/working with cross-functional teams, driving meaningful changes and developing others

Qualifications:

· Required

o Bachelor’s degree with a major in finance, economics, accounts, financial planning or a related field

o 1-3 years in the wealth management or investment management industry

o Expertise with Microsoft Office suite of tools with an emphasis on Excel

· Preferred

o FINRA Series 7 & 63/65 (or obtained within 120-days)

o Life & Health License (or obtained within 120-days)

o Has obtained or is working towards one of the following designations: CFP, CPWA, CFA, MBA, MSFS, RICP, ChFC, CIMA

Salary: 75-90k

Location: Hybrid: In office 3x a week, 2x remote
