Furnace Tender

Location: Le Sueur, MN

Starting Pay: $23-$26/hr

1st Shift Monday - Thursday (5:00 am - 3:20 pm)

Position Summary:Performs a variety of tasks such as alloying metals to specification, re-melting scrap; transferring and pouring molten metal into molds, bull ladles, or trucks; regulating furnace/metal temperature; stirring furnace, skimming off dross and cold flux; maintaining and cleaning furnace, making repairs; delivering ingots and molten metal to casting machines; or monitoring, identifying and labeling ingot inventory. Inspects for quality, defects, and deviations from specifications.

• Responsible for quality of work and appropriately resolving unusual operating conditions.
• Routinely operates a forklift.
• Generally works at an assigned workstation.
• Willingly modifies work schedule and duties to accommodate Company needs.
• All other duties as assigned.
• May require the successful completion of specific education, training, or certifications.

Minimum Education: Reading and understanding English language work instructions
Preferred Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum Skills/Experience: Six months of forklift experience, effective computer use, basic Math skills, independent decision-making, and effective self-management.
Preferred Skills/Experience: One year of forklift experience in a manufacturing environment
