LB Foster is Hiring a Precast Production Worker - Carpenter Near Nampa, ID

Who You Are...

As a carpenter in our precast division, you will build forms for our diverse precast products out of wood, foam, etc. You will also be responsible to compile kits for all precats products per production schedule. You possess diverse skills with experience in detail carpentry such as cabinet making.

This Position...

Is responsible for assembling our custom designed production forms to blueprint specifications, and construction, modification and repair of wooden concrete forms.

  1. Follow all safe work practices and procedures.
  2. Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  3. Read production blueprints and construct wooden forms and block outs with close tolerance to specifications for concrete production using a variety of machinery including table saws, radial saws, staple guns, skill saws, hammer, pneumatic nail gun, pneumatic palm sander, circular saws and other hand tools.
  4. Construct build-in-place or prefabricated wooden forms for molding concrete structures.
  5. Determines the type of material needed to create new forms and repair existing forms.
  6. Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items, manually or using hoists.
  7. Trained to complete pre-operation equipment inspections and report any issues identified.
  8. Trained to set up, adjust, and operate all basic machine tools.
  9. Read and interpret work instructions, then execute work per instructions.
  10. Other duties as assigned.

What Do You Need...

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 3 years of experience in similar role
  • Precast production experience a plus
  • Ability to accurately read blueprints, written instructions, and a tape measure.
  • Ability to work in a high paced environment while maintaining safety standards and following all safe work practices.
  • A focus on prioritization, time efficiency, problem solving and teamwork.
  • Ability to exert 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 40 pounds of force frequently and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Average proficiency in mathematics.
  • Good visual acuity.
