Lead the estimating process for projects from concept to completion, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and alignment with project goals.Maintain an accurate and up-to-date bid schedule.Compute cost factors and prepare estimates used for management purposes, such as: planning, scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors, and determining cost effectiveness.Oversee the RFP process for vendors and subcontractors.Analyze construction drawings, specifications, and other documentation to develop time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.Work in partnership with the Project Manager to plan the job prior to project initiation i.e. general conditions study, procurement schedule, logistics, etc.Complete a thorough review of all documents to ensure that they accurately reflect the conversations and agreements with Lazy Dog Design, Architect and Engineer.Ensures the most competitive bids are obtained for each trade, based on the specific needs of a project.Create a fair and comprehensive final sub- bid process which incorporates all information from previous budgets, and educates subs- on the Lazy Dog view of the project, including, but not limited to detailed written scope of work, logistics, etc.Build and maintain positive relationships with subs-vendors and Lazy Dog teammates.Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and emerging technologies to inform estimating strategies and best practices.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.Minimum of six years’ experience in construction estimating is required; prior experience in hospitality/restaurant industries preferred.Proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and construction estimating software (Procore). Familiarity with Bidding tool a plusAbility to multitask, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.Customer and client focused.Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.Trusting, passionate, humble and gracious.Build lasting relationships with trust and respect.Create fun.IND1
