The Evening Waitstaff Team Member is responsible for providing an excellent service experience for Lazard’s clients in a fine dining setting. This role works closely with other members of the Waitstaff Team, the Culinary Team, and the Floor Manager/Supervisor to exceed our clients’ dining expectations. The successful candidate possesses exceptional fine dining food service skills, has a genuine sense of hospitality, and works effectively in a fast-paced team environment.

We’ll trust you to:

• Welcome guests, take food and beverage orders, and serve orders in a timely manner, following established steps of service. Be able to “read the room” and pace steps of service appropriately
• Understand and be able to communicate menu offerings to guests, including ingredients, preparation methods, and allergens. Be able to communicate guests’ allergies, dietary restrictions, special requests, or any other wants and needs to culinary team and/or Floor Manager/Supervisor
• Inspect each dish before serving, making sure it upholds our standards of quality and presentation
• Be attentive to and anticipate guests’ wants and needs. Identify and resolve complaints, bringing issues to the attention of the Floor Manager/Supervisor
• Follow all health and sanitation regulations when handling food, tableware, and other food service supplies. Maintain orderly, clean, and well-stocked work stations and storage areas
• Ensure that all dining rooms and event spaces are left clean and orderly for the following day
• Leave kitchen in good working order for the following day by thoroughly cleaning workstations and equipment, leaving food storage areas and supplies storage areas organized and well-stocked, and assisting with running the evening’s used cookware and tableware through the dishwasher
• Perform other duties as assigned by Floor Manager/Supervisor, including helping with other evening events, stocking in-room beverage set-ups, and preparing catering set-ups for following day

You’ll need to have:

• A minimum of two years’ experience as a food server in an a la carte fine dining operation
• Fundamental knowledge of fine dining and hospitality services
• Knowledge of proper wine service techniques and basic knowledge of wine-food pairing
• Knowledge of how to prepare basic mixed drinks
• Understanding of pertinent state and federal health and sanitation regulations as relates to food service
• Excellent communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a team player attitude
• The ability to problem-solve on the spot and offer satisfactory solutions/responses
• The highest level of work ethic, integrity, and ethical behavior
• Flexibility to backfill on the daytime shift for team members who are sick/on vacation a plus

Hours

24 hours per week. Tuesday - Thursday (3 days a week). The hours could range from 2pm to 10:30pm, with flexibility for morning coverage.

Compensation

$30 - $37/Hour
