The Spirit of the Position:

The Technical Project Manager will focus exclusively on managing technical projects with our development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, coupled with a deep understanding of software development processes and methodologies. As a Technical Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading our development team to deliver high-quality software solutions on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning and Execution:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of technical projects within the development team.
  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and timelines.
  • Facilitate resources and tasks effectively to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination among team members, ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Provide regular communication on current, ongoing, and future projects to PMO leadership and other project stakeholders as needed. Should be in language accessible to non-technical personnel.

2. Technical Expertise:

  • Possess a strong understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum.
  • Work closely with developers to understand technical requirements and constraints.
  • Provide technical insight and guidance to the team to overcome challenges and achieve project objectives.

3. Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks and issues early in the project lifecycle.
  • Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans to address risks effectively.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively manage changes to minimize disruptions.

4. Stakeholder Management:

  • Communicate project status, updates, and risks to stakeholders on a regular basis.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather feedback and incorporate requirements into project planning.

5. Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure that software deliverables meet quality standards and adhere to project specifications.
  • Work with the development and QA team to address any quality issues and ensure timely resolution.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; preference given to candidates majoring in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience in technical project management, preferably in software development.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Technical background with proficiency in software development concepts and technologies.
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, Scrum Master) is a plus.
  • High degree of attention to detail.

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience working with development teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and software (e.g., Jira, Monday.com, Trello etc.).
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements in a dynamic environment.

Physical Demands:

  • Willingness to work in the elements – heat, wind, snow, rain, etc.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull at least 10 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk and run for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat and lift frequently throughout a shift.
