The Spirit of the Position:

The General Manager supports the Regional Vice President for Southern California with a complete oversight of Cross Border Xpress (CBX) financials and operations to ensure 24/7 professional parking management. As a company devoted to promoting an employee-focused servant leadership culture, the General Manager will support the programs and initiatives and help to support the individual needs of their operational team.

Principal Job Duties:

  • Lead, direct, and develop team of employees to accomplish annual and periodic goals/initiatives, while embodying and using LAZ Parking’s culture as a guideline.

  • Identifying high potential employees to support the organization’s continued growth.

  • Assist the Talent Acquisition Team by handling job requests and coordinating interview schedules.

  • Preparation of annual operating budgets and monthly reviews of profit/loss statements.

  • Responsible for developing client relationships and business retention.

  • Organize and narrate parking management skills for all employees and Supervisors.

  • Understand, implement, and deliver all requirements that are outlined within the contractual agreement between LAZ Parking and our client.

  • Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Annual financial and operational reports as required.

  • Ensuring that increased revenue, managed expenses, and customer satisfaction are maximized by maintaining the highest level of service thresholds and initiatives that are aligned with the expectations of our client.

  • Managing, planning, scheduling, training, and directing the activities of Employees and Supervisors, which may require compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreements.

  • Serve as a liaison to parking patrons and various stakeholder groups who are impacted by the operations of the assigned portfolio (and vice versa).

  • Implement and complete other projects, programs, and initiatives that may arise from the operation.

  • Contribute to the yearly salary analysis to verify that employee pay aligns with market standards.

  • Guarantee the timely and accurate processing of employee payroll with the assistance of the human resources team.

  • Compile and present weekly key performance indicators (KPIs) for payroll to the client, and formulate a strategy to minimize overtime, meal break violations, and tardiness.

  • Review and edit proposed parking, maintenance, etc. agreements.

  • Communicate with local police department and emergency management teams regarding operations.

  • Organize and manage the oversight of event operations within LAZ Parking.

  • Oversee, assess, and analyze parking rate structures in the market, offering guidance to clients on appropriate customer pricing.

  • Implementation and completion of other projects, programs, and initiatives that may arise.

  • Identify future hiring needs and develop job descriptions and specifications.

  • Understand and maintain audit principles, practices, and methodologies that are required.

  • Develop and submit documentation needed for required annual submissions.

  • Support the creation of the marketing budget while monitoring the costs of marketing activities.

  • Ensure safety SOPs are followed and prioritized utilizing resources such as Samsara, Safety Manager, location inspections, location safety audits, daily huddles, LAZ People, etc.

  • Additional related duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.

Experience:

  • 2 years in Management role. Parking experience required; airport combined with commercial experience desired.

  • Knowledge of Excel, Word, Power Point and General Microsoft Office Applications.

  • E-commerce experience is a plus but not a requirement.

Skills:

  • Parking management experience is required.

  • Excellent financial, budgeting, and reforecasting skills required.

  • Ability to seek improvement and create an environment of idea sharing and creative problem solving.

  • Strong customer service skills and abilities.

  • Ability to be approachable and facilitate coaching conversations with employees and managers.

  • Ability to mitigate and lead others to overcome challenges (Never Ever Give Up Attitude).

  • Ability to work independently and multi-task.

  • Proficiency in Spanish is required.

Physical Demands:

  • Willingness to work in the elements – heat, wind, snow, rain, etc.

  • Ability to lift, push and pull at least 25 pounds.

  • Ability to stand, walk and run for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat and lift frequently throughout a shift.
