Job Summary

Laydon, is a family owned and operated excavating & paving company since 1944 providing Underground Construction and Utility Support Services throughout the state of Connecticut. We strive to maintain quality workmanship and provide a safe work environment for our employees and general public.

We are seeking Heavy Equipment Operators to joins our team, we offer competitive wages, health, dental and vision benefits, 401K & overtime.

Responsibilities and Duties Requirement
*

  • Must have experience working with water mains, sewers, concrete, etc.
  • Experience operating equipment within close proximity to underground utilities and around the workforce.
  • Operate trucks and equipment safely and efficiently on public highways.
  • Thorough operational knowledge and skills of flatbed equipment hauling and end dumps
  • Must be able to load & unload process (without assistance)
  • Must be a team player willing to help out wherever needed
  • Must be able to operate a Wheel loader, Backhoe, Excavator, etc.
  • Excavator experience is required.
  • Must be willing to learn on the job how to operate new machines as we have many different types of equipment including: Milling & Paving, Excavation, Crushing & Screening, Hazardous Materials Response, and more.

Must have:

  • Excavation experience
  • Clean Driving Record
  • Clean Background Check
  • Up to date DOT Medical Card
  • CDL Class A or B preferred
  • Must be able to pass a DOT physical & drug screen
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
