Job Description of the Loss Control Inspector

Lay the Foundation company information:

We are a family-owned business specializing in providing insurance underwriting Loss Control inspection reports. We work directly with companies that assign orders from their insurance Underwriter clients.

Our friendly team is available to support your business by providing:

  • Order assignments
  • Scheduling services
  • Report writing
  • Assistance with questions

Pay: We pay a competitive standard flat fee per case. Our typical flat fee is $25 per case, with some exceptions.

Job Type: Independent Contractor

We are currently seeking inspector applicants who are qualified to work in the USA and have a history of direct experience completing residential and/or commercial line insurance inspections and/or have completed a training course.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Receives assignments electronically and reviews for inspection requirements.
  • Inspects the premises and/ or property for potential issues or hazards pertaining to utilities/building systems (heating, wiring, plumbing), common areas, maintenance, protections, and life/ fire safety, etc.
  • Takes 20-35 exterior/interior photos. Takes measurements with a measuring wheel or with online tools as needed.
  • Observes, photographs and/or notates condition of roof, as required. (No climbing ladder necessary)
  • Interviews the Insured for operations information, ages of the building systems, etc.
  • Communicates inspection status through online application.

Qualifications:

  • 1 years' experience providing commercial insurance loss control inspections (preferred)
  • Understanding of residential and commercial property and casualty lines: property, general liability, and worker's compensation or willingness to learn
  • Ability to work independently, manage your time effectively, and communicate well verbally and in writing (required)
  • Photography background preferred or willingness to learn (preferred)
  • Ability to travel approximately a 50-mile radius (required)
  • Driver's License and reliable transportation with clean driving record (required)

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
