Position Details

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from an approved college or university
• Must have a valid Michigan teaching certificate and meet state and federal highly qualified teacher requirements to teach secondary English (BA)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in the use of technology to promote efficiency in the position
• Ability to prepare lesson plans and organize a meaningful instructional program
• Ability to maintain records and to prepare reports and correspondence related to the position
• Experience and ability to work positively with others
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications and the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning
• Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior and evaluate their progress on a regular basis
