The Lawrence Public Schools Grants Department is looking to add to their team. Ifyou’re attentive to detail, deadline focused, a multi tasker, and an eagerness to learnand grow we want to meet you.Position Title: Grant Senior SpecialistLocation: Central OfficeReports to: Grants ManagerThis position will be engaged in several key LPS Grant Department needs. Working as partof a connected team, our work consists of supporting the full life cycle of grant awards thatare woven into programs of support at all of our schools.SENIOR GRANT SPECIALIST responsibilities include, but not limited to:➔ Monitor spending, report on available funds on a monthly basis and call attention to situationsthat may result in over or under expenditure of approved budgets➔ Provide grant managers with a detailed monthly grant report at the invoice, purchase order, andindividual payroll level that has been reviewed for accuracy➔ Enter requisitions for all grant related expenditures➔ Process payables for all grant expenditures l➔ Prepare cash receipts for grant revenue including Cash Receipt Voucher for submission to CityComptroller's office➔ Maintain accurate up to date balances on all grant accounts➔ Verify payroll encumbrances for salaries, health insurance, and employee benefits on a monthlybasis➔ Execute all transfers between the City and school accounting records based on properauthorization and maintain file records of complete documentation of each transaction➔ Assist with preparation of annual final financial reports for all grants➔ Assist with preparation of the grant portions of the annual DESE End of Year Final Report➔ Assist with collection, organization, tracking, and submission of required documentation forannual grant audits➔ Other department duties as assigned in support of district grant financing.Qualifications:1. Familiar with accounting practices as it pertains to budgeting and procurement of goods andservices.2. Creation and analysis of excel spreadsheets, MUNIS and Google Suite3. Knowledgeable of procurement process and accounts payable best practices4. Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with agencies, partners,distinct personnel, and various community groups.*This position is a full time onsite position at 260 days/year.
