LSAC is a not-for-profit corporation devoted to promoting and furthering the quality, access, and fairness of the law school admission process by providing core products and services to law school candidates and law schools in the United States and throughout the world. LSAC’s mission is to advance law and justice by encouraging diverse, talented individuals to study law and by supporting their enrollment and learning journeys from prelaw through practice.

The Operations Engineer is responsible for providing phone, email, and onsite technical support to LSAC’s internal customers. The Engineer works with systems administration, patching, PC lifecycle, device deployment, enterprise security, and PC imaging. Various short-term projects and ongoing specific responsibilities are also necessary, as well as assisting other Engineers with their projects.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Provide professional support to our customers via phone, email, remote session, and in person.
• Log all incidents into the incident management system with clear concise language.
• Keep customers informed of progress on problems that cannot be resolved at the initial point of contact.
• Troubleshoot the cause of problems, not just the symptoms, taking action to prevent recurrences.
• Handle internal projects with attention to detail, good judgment, and excellent customer service.
• Take an active role, documenting problems and changes to ensure that the team is kept up to date.
• Reflect the values of LSAC in all aspects of your work.

Qualifications

Competencies:

• Possess a Positive Attitude and Demeanor
• Expertise in Microsoft 365 and Office suite of applications, including MS Teams
• Expertise in PC hardware and and peripheral support and maintenance
• Working knowledge of Active Directory, Azure AD, and Intune; Powershell knowledge a plus
• Able to Work both Independently and Collaboratively
• Possess Excellent Interpersonal, Oral and Written Communication Skills
• Be a Team Player and flexible to change priorities as work dictates
• Ethical and security-focused conduct
• Knowledge of technology trends and industry shifts

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Required Education and Experience:

• Qualified applicant will possess a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent technical support work experience.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• A Bachelor's Degree in a technology-related field (Computer Science, Information Systems, or related) or 1-3 years of technical support experience is preferred.
• The candidate should have experience with Microsoft Office 365, Windows 10 and 11, and the support of web-based applications.
• The candidate should also have some experience with Azure, enterprise security, deployment, and imaging applications.
