Law School Admission Council is Hiring a Grants and Operations Specialist Near Newtown, PA

Overview

LSAC is a nonprofit organization devoted to furthering quality, access, and fairness in law school admission by providing the core products and services that candidates and law schools depend on in the United States and around the world. LSAC promotes quality, access, and equity in law and education worldwide by supporting individuals’ enrollment journeys and providing pre-eminent assessment, data, and technology services.

Summary of Position:

The Grant and Operations Specialist oversees the day-to-day operations related to grants, subsidies and fee waiver appeals as well as provides event and programmatic support for the DEI boundary. This position ensures that business procedures are executed effectively and efficiently, contributing to the organization’s overall mission.

Compensation range is $68,000 - $75,000

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

Grant and Subsidy Coordination

  • Take the lead responsibility for LSAC’s DEI Pathway Grants Program
    • Key duties include managing the fiscal aspects of the grants process from development of proposal budget, review of key grant terms, calculation and extrapolation of financial data, and grant compliance and reporting.
  • Review fee waiver appeals
  • Recommend changes and/or improvements to the policy and/or training.
  • Manage subsidies for prelaw advisors at member schools to attend regional conferences
  • Take the lead on the LSAC DEI Sponsorship program
    • Review submissions
    • Process payment
  • Develop and monitor grant guidelines. Update website content as appropriate.

Programming Support

  • Provide support for DEI sponsored events
  • Serve as lead respondent of the Diversity Office inbox
  • Update the MSI list annually
  • Attend and support LSAC hosted events
  • Serves as a back-up to the Executive Assistant for the Chief Diversity Officer
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is required.
  • Ability and willingness to learn and use specialized office software related to the duties assigned.
  • Experience with editing/creating work product for all, including people with disabilities, which is compliant with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 or a willingness and aptitude to learn accessibility best practices and standards. 

Education and Experience

  • A, BBA or B.S. degree
  • At least 3 years of related professional experience is expected.
  • Project management, policy analysis experience preferred

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This role does not have people management responsibilities. 

Position Type

  • The LSAC standard business hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:45 p.m. ET. While these are the standard office hours for LSAC, as an exempt employee, the employee will be expected to work the hours necessary to satisfactorily complete their assignments in a responsible and professional manner.

Work Environment

  • HYBRID - This job operates in a remote and professional office environment. Whether remote or in-office, this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 20% of travel is required for this position.
