Job Title: Eugene, Oregon Trial Attorney (remote possibility)

We delve into the most complex and high-conflict cases involving property disputes, business disagreements, parental alienation, unjust violence (government-sanctioned or personal assaults), and intimidating government overreach via the criminal and juvenile courts/DHS. Our firm is supported by a team of experienced and skilled legal assistants, you will be provided with ample support in your case work.

We're looking for a Trial Attorney ready to grow with our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist lead trial lawyers in managing a caseload from intake through litigation, trial, and settlement
  • Draft legal documents, conduct legal research, and prepare for court appearances, trials, and depositions
  • Work directly with clients to manage their expectations and deliver legal advice
  • Collaborate with our team to develop effective case strategies
  • Show initiative and work independently with an eye toward growth and future leadership opportunities
  • Manage team of legal assistants

Qualifications:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and licensed to practice in Oregon
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a legal role; courtroom experience is strongly preferred
  • District Attorney experience is an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and a desire for career growth
  • Strategic minded with a history of creative thinking and problem solving
  • Evidence of discipline, such as mastery of a hobby, a sport, etc.
  • Turning exposure to hardship into insights about the human condition that are transferable to brutal cross-examination skills and strategic mindset
  • Management experience of any kind is valued
  • A history of hard work, particularly in manual labor, is a plus

Compensation:

We offer competitive compensation, benefits, and opportunities for professional growth depending on your experience and the value proposition it offers to clients (translated into the billable rate). Your compensation is dependant on your experience and capacity to manage a team. Our compensation package includes a monthly salary plus bonuses based on profitability. Our most highly valued associate candidates would be independent entrepreneurs passionate about justice and resolving conflict through collaboration or force, who work well on their own but appreciate a stable case flow, clients that can pay, and a supportive team to watch out for one another like family.
