Duties:
- Work closely with the owners to achieve goals and execute plans.
- Oversee the daily operations of the nursery, including plant care, inventory management, and customer service.
- Provide guidance and support to nursery staff, including training and development.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and attractive nursery environment.
- Assist customers with plant selection and provide expert advice on plant care.
- Manage inventory levels and ensure stock is properly displayed and priced.
- Process customer transactions accurately and handle cash transactions.
- Coordinate the ordering of plants when needed.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the nursery, including the managing of the nursery's social media accounts.
Skills:
- Ability to take initiative and see what needs to be done around the nursery and do it.
- Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems for processing customer transactions.
- Knowledge of plants and plant care best practices.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers.
- Basic retail math skills for pricing and inventory management.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, other staff, and in plant acquisition transactions.
- Ability to manage stock, including receiving, organizing, and displaying merchandise.
- Cash handling experience with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills to manage inventory levels and coordinate deliveries.
- Sales and/or managing experience is preferred.
Pay is competitive based on experience and skill. We are hiring for 25-40 hours of work per week, depending on the season and the individual considered.
