About This Role
Looking for an opportunity for hands-on experience as in digital marketing? Then our Social Media Marketing internship may be for you! This internship runs for 4 months and pays $12.50 per hour. The Social Media Marketing Intern must be able to work up to 29 hours a week in a hybrid and flexible workplace.

The Social Media Marketing Intern will execute digital marketing and communication strategies, under general supervision, across one or more of Launch That projects. This position follows established procedures and is a hybrid position.

Day-to-Day
  • Support Senior Marketing Strategist with strategic content planning and campaign development, dedicating substantial time to developing social media content and managing communities across various platforms 
  • Generate engaging and relevant content for owned social media platforms such as Facebook, X (formerly known as Twitter), Instagram, Youtube and more.
  • Create visually appealing graphics and videos to enhance social media posts and support paid social media initiatives.
  • Write captions and copy for social media posts. 
  • Assist in managing and scheduling social media posts across owned platforms.
  • Moderate and manage requests to join private Facebook support groups.
  • Responds to comments across owned social channels, providing additional resources and nurturing leads as dictated by our business goals.
  • Actively monitors and reports on overall social campaign performance using multiple sources (RivalIQ, Facebook Insights, Google Analytics, Salesforce, etc.) Relies on data to make decisions, identify key trends and potential growth opportunities.
  • Monitor social media channels for industry trends and competitor activities.
  • Assist in generating high-level strategy and tactical plans to support the business through a social-first lens.

  • Work is closely reviewed by peers or Director of Marketing upon completion.

  • Work collaboratively with team members in your department and cross-departmentally to gain diverse viewpoints. This is an essential investment into our culture and includes identifying needs, pooling strengths and insights and evaluating data for inclusive goal completion to benefit the team and company's strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with marketing team members to achieve collective goals. 
  • Communicate findings and key results with other members of the marketing team.
  • Work with the project management team to understand time scheduling.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Copywriting experience and/or superior written communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of social media, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and/or other social media platforms.
  • Must have experience managing an organization’s social media account.
  • Strong analytical and creative abilities: We’re looking to develop and implement fresh ideas backed by data.
  • Basic design skills & experience with Canva preferred.
  • Proficient in G Suite.
  • Proven ability to work well independently or in a group, is a self-starter with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality, error-free work.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • A desire to grow and take initiative to help others as team priorities shift.
  • Agility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Expertise/skills with both learning and sharing.
  • Professional and adept, with the ability to embrace technology and automation.

Bonus Qualifications

  • 1 year of demonstrated experience in social media marketing and/or email marketing.
  • Pursuing additional education in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or another related field. This could be a Bachelor's degree, online certificate courses, etc.
  • Familiarity with social media management tools such as Buffer, Hootsuite, Social Sprout or another social scheduling tool.
  • Strong Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel skills.
