POSITION SUMMARY:

(This position is located in our Grand Blanc clinic)

The BCaBA or Qualified Behavioral Health Provider (QBHP) conducts and supervises delivery of ABA services to individuals diagnosed with ASD, by conducting behavioral and skill assessments, writing assessment reports, designing treatment plans and behavior intervention plans, supervising behavior technicians providing ABA services, and leading parent education sessions. This role requires that there is regular communication with a supervising BCBA, however your expectations and duties mimic the same for a BCBA. You are to adhere to all ethical guidelines from the BACB. This role requires that a BCaBA or QBHP take initiative, accepts feedback and meets deadlines provided by the supervising BCBA. The BCaBA or QBHP understands they will be required to meet clinical standards and the evaluation process. 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Not limited to;

  • Adheres to professional and legal requirements, the principles of behavior analysis and demonstrates sound professional judgment at all times
  • Maintain BCBA continuing education courses that are necessary by the BACB (32 credits every 2 years)
  • Willing to collaborate with other services (PT, OT, Speech) that their clients are provided
  • Collaborates with families, caregivers and all service providers as necessary to ensure continuity of care
  • Performs direct and indirect assessments to identify the function of client’s behaviors
  • Develops a treatment plan (including behavior support plan) based on the functions of the behavior and treatment methodologies that are evidence-based
  • Attends all relevant meetings for clients, including treatment team meetings, IEP/ISP (as allowed/needed)
  • Adequately demonstrates their abilities to work effectively as a part of a clinical team
  • Attends insurance authorization review calls for their clients
  • Collects data before and during the implementation of the plan so that the plan’s efficacy can be assessed and data-based decisions can be made
  • Provides direct instruction/ongoing supervision, training and support to clients, staff members and family members
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of the implemented treatment plan and modifies the plan as necessary
  • Upon receiving information from the Clinical Director, the BCBA will initiate services with new clients in a timely manner
  • Manages, prepares and submits all required documentation on time (includes, but is not limited to: assessments, treatment plans/BSPs, insurance updates as required, session notes after every session, at least monthly analysis of the data, updating the treatment plans as needed, participation in calls with insurance companies, etc.)
  • Communicates regularly and works closely with the Clinical Director
  • Supervises & monitors progress of Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and Behavior Technicians (BTs) (includes practicum students)
  • Conducts ABA Technician’s Annual Evaluations & Goal Setting
  • Responsible for submitting authorizations, requesting adjustments, assessments & treatments to insurance carriers for approval

  • Effective time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at one time

  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, co-workers, supervisors and community members
  • Ability to adhere to organizational policies and procedures and abide by the code of ethics as indicated by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board
  • Commitment to maintain client confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA laws
  • Commitment to ongoing training and development as it relates to clinical skills, professional development, ethics and technology in order to perform job responsibilities to required standards
  • Must maintain a professional appearance with regard to clothing, grooming, hair and make-up
  • Meet supervision standards as it relates to the BACB ethical care and service delivery
  • Provide direct care to clients in circumstances that a client needs coverage
  • Provide training and maintaining appropriate supervision over clients and team meeting standards

BASIC & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Not limited to;

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to lift and carry clients with adaptive equipment
  • Ability to work with a variety of clients in regard to age, functionality, and with minimal direction
  • Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be willing and able to hold/transport and utilize quick body movements as indicated in the Behavior Intervention Plan in the course of working with children with challenging behavior
  • Must have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for data collection
  • Must be physically present at assigned job location
  • Must be able to receive detailed information through oral communication
  • Must have visual acuity to read and comprehend written communication through computer, electronic devices and paper means
  • Must have reliable transportation

EXPERIENCE: Not limited to;

  • Experience in implementing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis preferred
  • Extensive supervision and skills related to the task list on the BACB

EDUCATION: Not limited to;

  • Must have or near obtaining a Masters degree and preparing for certification as a BCBA.

REPORTING STRUCTURE: Not limited to;

  • Immediate Supervisor: Clinical Director/ Supervising BCBA

RELATED TRAINING: Not limited to;

  • Responsible for completing and maintaining all required certifications and trainings once employed; including, but not limited to: CPR, QBS, etc… trainings and other company in-services and trainings as directed by the Clinical Director.
