JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Park Maintenance Worker Hourly wage starting at $17.14-$18.59 DOE
Mid-May – August, 40 hours/week
Department: Parks and Recreation Reports to: Parks and Recreation Director
Job Summary:
The position involves helping to maintain Robinson Park, Latah Trail, Virgil Phillips Park,
Moose Creek Recreation Area, Spring Valley Campground, and Hylton-Bateson Park under the
authority of the Latah County Parks and Recreation Director.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Mowing and weeding
Garbage pick-up and removal
Painting of park facilities
Brush cleaning and pruning
Trail maintenance
Landscaping
General cleaning of park facilities
Provide park users with information as needed
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED equivalency
Twelve months grounds maintenance experience
Ability to work with the public
Ability to operate safely: tractors, riding lawn mowers, power weed trimmers, chain saws,
power hand tools, and hand tools
Have a valid driver's license
Typical Physical Requirements:
Good attendance and punctuality
Kneeling, crouching, standing, sitting, walking and lifting
Communicate physically and by phone.
Manual dexterity to perform physical functions
Ability to remember (e.g., codes, etc.)
Works independently with minimum supervision.
Ability to walk over rough terrain and lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in inclement weather.
