Job Title: Outpatient Clinician
Reports To: Executive Director of Outpatient Services

SUMMARY
The principal actor in the delivery of clinical and addiction-related counseling services under the Last Resort Outpatient Services, reporting directly to the Executive Director of Outpatient Services. This position requires a person that is comfortable facilitating groups, carrying an individual caseload, and is proficient in typing to complete timely notes. Additional responsibilities include: Attending weekly staffing meetings and updating client support contacts where appropriate per HIPPA release of information.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES RELATED TO OUTPATIENT COUNSELOR include the following and other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Must be licensed by the State of Texas as a Qualified Credentialed Counselor (LCDC, LPC, LCSW, CI) and be in good standing. If in recovery, must have two years of sobriety/recovery and be actively working a recovery program.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Education commensurate with licensure, prefer master degree. At least one year experience working in a substance abuse treatment facility required. Work experience in a 12-step immersion program is preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, long correspondence, and memos. Ability to write complex correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Must be able to navigate a computer and use and windows based operating system. Must be able to navigate the agency electronic medical record.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete and abstract variables in all situations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Must be professional in appearance and demeanor.
