Lasko Products, an industry leader of home environment products for over 100 years, is seeking an Inventory Management intern for our light manufacturing facility in Fort Worth, TX. The summer internship will run from mid-May 2024 through mid-August 2024. 

This internship provides hands-on experience in inventory control and logistics within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The Inventory Management Intern will work closely with our inventory management team to learn best practices, gain practical skills, and contribute to the efficient operation of our inventory systems.

Responsibilities:

1. Inventory Monitoring and Analysis:

   • Assist in monitoring inventory levels and conducting regular audits to ensure accuracy.
   • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
   • Generate reports and dashboards to communicate inventory status and performance metrics.

2. Order Processing and Fulfillment:

   • Support the processing of incoming orders and the fulfillment of customer requests.
   • Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure timely picking, packing, and shipping of products.
   • Monitor order status and communicate with stakeholders regarding any delays or issues.

3. Inventory Replenishment and Planning:

   • Assist in forecasting inventory needs based on historical data, sales trends, and demand forecasts.
   • Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure timely replenishment of stock.
   • Help optimize inventory levels to minimize excess inventory and stockouts while maximizing inventory turnover.

4. Inventory Control Procedures:

   • Learn and adhere to inventory control procedures, including labeling, tagging, and tracking inventory movements.
   • Assist in implementing and enforcing inventory management policies to maintain accuracy and integrity.
   • Participate in periodic physical inventory counts and reconciliation efforts.

5. Process Improvement Projects:

   • Identify opportunities to streamline inventory management processes and improve efficiency.
   • Propose and implement solutions to address inefficiencies and optimize workflow.
   • Document best practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for future reference.

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications; experience with inventory management software a plus.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment and willingness to take on new challenges.
