CHIEF NURSING OFFICER (CNO)

CHIEF NURSING OFFICER (CNO) – MENTAL HEALTH TREATMENT FACILITY
This Hospital is a leading mental health treatment facility. Their 120-bed inpatient facility places patient comfort and safety at the forefront and provides exceptional therapeutic care.
In addition to inpatient care, they have a commitment through an outpatient partial hospitalization program, which ensures continuous support without disrupting daily lives. They provide accessible care that transcends financial barriers, emphasizing care availability regardless of one's ability to pay.
OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES
· Shaping the clinical practice of nursing at this Hospital
· Key part of senior management, providing leadership to the Nursing Services Department, to ensure the development, implementation, and evaluation of policies, programs, and services aligned with the facility's goals.
· Active participation in consulting with facility management that will contribute to the delivery of total patient care and services.
  • Directing 24-hour nursing services for the facility.
  • Developing, implementing, and revising policies and procedures in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Reviewing and enhancing the progress, quality, and effectiveness of nursing programs.
  • Strategically solving organizational challenges and contributing to long and short-term facility projects.
  • Participating in budget development and control for department personnel, facilities, and equipment.
  • Collaborating with facility management to ensure optimal therapeutic experiences for all patients.
  • Must have knowledge of Code procedures and psychiatric/medical nursing procedures.
  • Must know Mental Health Laws, Child Abuse/Neglect/Maltreatment Laws, and DHS provider agreement.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Analyzing situations, evaluating data, and recommending/implementing improvements.
  • Adhering to safety policies and procedures.
  • Working collaboratively in a team and maintaining confidentiality
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of nursing; Master's Degree in psychiatric nursing or related field required.
Experience: Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in nursing administration or dedicated leadership experience in psychiatric nursing.
Licensure: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts.
Additional Requirements: Thorough knowledge of The Joint Commission, Medicare, OSHA regulations and all other state and federal regulatory standards
