Overview

This position is responsible for greeting guests and obtaining orders for food, alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages at the snack bar location.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide quality and courteous service to Casino players and guests.
• Acknowledge and greet customers and guests in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Take orders and collect payment from Casino players and guests.
• Assure that all orders are taken correctly and efficiently.
• Familiarity with POS ordering systems.
• Be completely familiar with sandwich preparation.
• Be familiar with beer, liquor and wine.
• Develop expertise in the use of the computer terminal system.
• Never indicate that a tip or gratuity is expected for service.
• Remove empty glassware and service items from the bar top.
• Be watchful for persons who appear to be under the legal drinking age limit.
• Maintain cleanliness in the snack bar service station.
• Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
• Be alert to recognize when a guest may have had enough to drink.
• Perform all other work-related duties as assigned by the Food and Beverage Shift Supervisor.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• Previous sandwich/fast food operation experience preferred
• Previous experience in food and beverage operation

EDUCATION/FORMAL TRAINING

• HS diploma or GED

REASONING ABILITY

• Ability to determine and shift priorities quickly
• This position requires the ability to problem solve complex situations in an effective and efficient manner.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variable

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive working relationships
• Able to read, write, and speak English

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Gardena City Work permit.
• Must have California Food Handlers Card
• Must obtain Responsible Beverage Service training and certification

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must have ability to safely lift minimum of 20 lbs. without restrictions.
• Requires standing and walking for long periods of time.
