Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Optometrist to join our team. As an Optometrist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services to patients of all ages. Your expertise in diagnosing and treating various eye conditions will contribute to the overall health and well-being of our patients.
Duties:
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess visual acuity, refractive errors, and overall eye health
- Diagnose and treat various eye conditions, such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration
- Prescribe corrective lenses or medications as needed
- Perform specialized tests, such as visual field testing and retinal imaging
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated patient care
- Educate patients on proper eye care practices and answer any questions or concerns they may have
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in optometry and incorporate new techniques into practice
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to optometry
- Proficiency in conducting vital signs assessments
- Familiarity with medical coding and billing procedures
- Expertise in ophthalmology and understanding of various eye conditions and diseases
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Experience in pediatric optometry and senior care is a plus
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex medical information in a clear and concise manner
- Strong sales skills to effectively recommend eyewear options to patients
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems
