Logistics Project Manager I – Des Peres, MO

Lanter Delivery Systems (LDS) is currently seeking Project Manager I candidates in the St. Louis area due to growth in the company. This position will manage projects throughout the North, South and West regions and will require a great deal of travel with varying hours depending upon the assignment.

Lanter Delivery Systems (LDS) is a multi-regional logistics company and a leader in overnight, unattended delivery of auto and agricultural parts from Customer’s distribution centers to dealer locations. Our customers include most major U.S. automakers and agricultural equipment manufacturers including; GM, Ford, Chrysler, John Deere, Cummins, Case New Holland and many more. Lanter guarantees shipments that are placed in the late afternoon will be delivered next morning by 8:00AM. Come be a part of a growing team!

Job Title: Logistics Project Manager I 
Position Type: Full-time
Location: Des Peres, MO
Reports to: Coordination Manager

Job Responsibilities of the Project Manager I: 

  • Execute and manage one low-level project, or one high-level sub-project with ability to make changes, as appropriate, to monitor progress and keep projects on schedule
    1. Host weekly project meetings and calls 
    2. Maintain accountability among team members
  • Submit weekly reports to management outlining current project status 
  • Coordinate team resources, responsibilities, and deadlines
  • Proofread project plans and new business proposals 
  • Identify and direct routing changes
  • Travel to various regions to manage business efforts
  • Train various individuals throughout the company including Terminal Managers, Dispatch, and additional staff 
  • Prepare and give presentations upon request about project or industry related items using various technologies (WebEx, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Communicate daily reports of project status updates to Project Manager II or III
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements of the Project Manager I: 

  • One to two years’ experience in Project Management required 
  • Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any field required 
  • Must be willing and available to travel extensively – up to 80% 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook 
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Project preferred
  • Possesses high level of judgement while decision making 
  • Ability to undertake greater workload responsibilities
  • Deadline oriented with strong attention to detail
  • Provide constant process improvement solutions 
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
