Performs manual and machine operator tasks in set-up, maintenance and operation of web press. Provides back up to Head Press Operator as necessary. Must possess high mechanical aptitude, electrical knowledge, comfort with computer controls, SWOP and color management experience.

Roles:

· Operate/direct the operation of press according to job orders.

· Adjust print quality, registration and color settings on press.

· Make final pre-run inspection of the job, providing approval or seeking necessary approval from Head Press Operator.

· Responsible for quality of printed product.

· Mounting plates, blankets and belts.

· Monitor chemical and temperature systems on press.

· Perform preventative maintenance such as lubrication, replacement of small parts, cleaning and adjustments to rollers.

· Possess mechanical aptitude, electrical knowledge, computer controls, knowledge of ink/water balance, SWOP and color in general.

· Carries out all responsibilities in accordance with safety policies, procedures, equipment operation guidelines and the SOP.

· Must run Press when Head Operator is out.

Other duties/tasks assigned by direct supervisor or any managerial staff member.

Qualifications:

• Identify and report any quality, safety or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required.

• Support compliance activities and facilitate open and interactive compliance work environment.

• Previous press experience is necessary.

• Full color vision is required.

• Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment is necessary.

• A high school diploma is preferred.

• Leadership experience strongly desired.
