JOB DESCRIPTION

Landscapes Unlimited is in search of a skilled individual eager to embark on a journey within the landscaping industry as our Design Assistant. Collaborating closely with our senior Landscape Designers and operations team, this role involves evaluating, designing, and implementing cutting-edge landscape designs and installations across the Twin Cities. Additionally, there is ample opportunity for growth within this position, with the potential to evolve into a Designer role as skills and experience develop.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design Development | Assist senior landscape designers in the development of creative and innovative landscape design concepts.
• Drafting & Rendering | Create detailed sketches, CAD drawings, and/or 3D renderings to visualize design concepts for clients.
• Site Evaluations | Coordinate preparation of construction plans through site layouts, takeoffs, base mapping, grading plans and other site work, as needed.
• Material Selection & Specification | Research materials, plants and accessories for landscape projects while considering factors such as aesthetics, sustainability and client budget.
• Project Coordination | Communicate design specifications effectively to ensure accurate installation.
• Client Interactions | Assist in client meetings and presentations, while providing support to senior landscape designers in explaining design concepts, addressing client feedback, communication project timelines and providing clarification when required.
• Administrative Tasks | Organize and maintain project files and documentation, while also assisting with scheduling client appointments, preparing meeting presentations, and responding to client inquiries.
• Project Costs & Logistics | Collaborate with senior designers, operations and logistics to accurately price out materials, plants, accessories and labor to successfully complete the design and build of client requests.
• Internal Support | Provide support to colleagues on various topics including software, design and installation, scheduling, logistics and other needs as they arise.
• Vendor and Supplier Coordination | Assist with vendors, subcontractors and suppliers to obtain and update pricing, quotes and product information and guides.
• Other Tasks as Needed | As this role encourages adaptability, other tasks and responsibilities may arise.
