Landscapes by Terra, Inc. is Hiring a Landscape Technician Near Dublin, OH

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and career-driven landscape technician to join our team. The primary responsibility of this position is to perform a variety of landscaping tasks such as planting, mulching, edging, pruning, bed care and weeding. Depending on hardscape experience you may be assigned to design/build projects assisting foremen with construction of patios, walkways, retaining walls, and drainage solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mulching, weeding, edging, and fertilizing garden beds
  • Trimming small trees, hedges, and shrubs
  • Assist with seeding, fertilizing, or laying sod on newly developed land
  • Removing unwanted, dead, or damaged trees
  • Clean grounds (e.g., dispose of leaves and debris, dispose of waste appropriately)
  • Always maintain a clean and safe job site and observe job safety standards. 
  • Planting shrubs, flowers, and trees with proper horticulture techniques
  • Learn to operate small-engine machinery and complete Bobcat training
  • Perform general and routine building maintenance duties as assigned.
  • Elective - Perform snow and ice removal on commercial and residential properties (remove snow by shovel or plow, spread salt/chemicals to clean sidewalks and parking lots).
  • Keep a clean and professional appearance. 
  • Assist the Foreman in job duties to complete jobs 100% and according to company standards. 
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures as set forth by the company. 
  • Follow direction from Foreman and Managers. 
  • Strive to improve job skills and develop the potential for upward growth. 

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in landscaping or related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of landscaping techniques and best practices.
  • Ability to operate and maintain various types of landscaping equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Good physical condition and stamina. 
  • Be able to move one’s whole body to perform climbing, lifting, kneeling, balancing, walking, stooping, and repeatedly bending. 
  • Exhibit considerable use of arm and leg strength to accomplish the physical handling of materials. 
  • Move and handle material generally weighing up to 50 pounds. 
  • Working outside with regular exposure to varying weather conditions ranging from below zero temperatures to 100 plus temperatures. 

Licensing

  • Valid Driver's License - over the age of 21, been driving for 5 years, fewer than 2 points on your driver's license

Experience

  • No experience necessary! Hands on training.

Work hours

  • Available to work 50-55 hours a week, April through October; start time 7 AM
  • Available to work 25-45 hours a week, November through March; start time 8 AM
  • Winter work available: Snow plowing, or walk-behind crew paid $30/Hour; on-call
