Quality Assurance Manager
A well-established company in Morristown, TN is looking for a full-time quality assurance manager to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to drive and operate larger, more varied and more complex road construction and maintenance of way equipment.What you’ll be doing to make an impact:
  • Lead and monitor primary functions of quality assurance and quality control functions including acting as the management representative for customer and quality system requirements; facilitating product validation, receiving inspection, calibration, and conformance test systems; and supporting daily priorities.
  • Develop a strategy to satisfy customers, shareholders, and team members.
  • Participate as a key member of the leadership team helping to set direction for organization and support continual improvement.
  • Observe departmental performance, analyze cause & effect, and take appropriate action.
  • Develop and be accountable to operating plan and financial commitments.
  • Communicate operating plan targets, action plans, and status regularly to all members.
  • Promote continuous improvement in safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance through Kaizen and leading positive change.
  • Support staff, specialists, and team members by providing training, instruction, and leadership about their personal growth and job performance.
  • Support initiatives for synergistic systems that will benefit in total.
  • This position is responsible for supervising employees in accordance with policies and procedures.
What you’ll bring to the table
  • Bachelor’s in engineering or related field
  • 5 or more years of related direct supervisory experience.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to motivate large groups.
  • Positive attitude, highly motivated, and high energy level.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to promote a team environment.
  • Solid problem-solving skills using a variety of statistical and root cause tools.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Excellent organizational skills that promote efficiency and leadership.
  • Budget preparation and control experience.
  • Ability to correct negative behavior fairly and consistently.
  • Flexible working hours, overtime, and travel required.
  • Knowledge and experience in quality systems and quality standards; blueprints and tolerance standards; metrology; and materials science.
  • High-volume manufacturing experience with machining, assembly, or die casting (optional).
  • Tier-1 automotive industry experience (optional).
  • Ability to work overtime is an essential function of the position.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Work is mostly performed in a normal office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards, and with substantial time spent working on a computer. Requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and other office equipment.
  • The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to manufacturing areas that require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.
  • Travel by automobile and plane required approximately 10-20% of the time.
  • Employee may perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
