Airport Security Specialist (Seasonal)

What you’ll be doing to make an impact:

• Assists Airport Security Specialist with ID credentialing, ID badging, vehicular access, and the set-up of security and driver training for employees at Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport (VPS) under TSA, FAA, and Airport rules and regulations.
• Assists with the operation of the fingerprinting/criminal history background checks, threat assessments, and recordkeeping/retention process.
• Assists with issuing and maintaining employee parking passes and related files.
• Documents turned in Lost & Found items and helped get items returned to owners.
• Performs administrative functions including conducting searches for information via the internet or internal files and maintains office files.
• Answers and routes incoming calls and provides customer service.

• High school diploma or GED supplemented by a minimum of three (3) years in airport security or airport operations, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Requires the ability to professionally interact and maintain working relationships with customers, tenants, employees, vendors, and airport stakeholders.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred.
• Experience with electronic fingerprinting hardware and software preferred.
• Must pass background criminal history records check (“CHRC.”)

• For this position, you will be paid $18/hour
• Hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
• Now through September 2024
