Landon School is seeking an Associate Director of Middle School Admissions to manage Landon’s pool of Middle School applications and assist the admissions team as needed with applications in the Lower and/or Upper School to effectively manage demand. This position reports to the Director of Admissions, Outreach & Enrollment and will work closely with the entire admissions team to execute an informative, responsive, and welcoming recruitment process.

Responsibilities Include

· Develop and implement multi-year admissions plan for Landon Middle School in conjunction with the Director of Admissions, Outreach & Enrollment.

· Use demographic and admissions data to inform the development and execution of a plan to attract new applicants.

· Oversee all stages of the admissions process for Middle School applicants, appropriately communicating with prospective families about all requirements and events while engaging faculty, staff, and volunteers as appropriate.

· Host admissions functions: manage and lead a full cycle of admission events including Open Houses, tours, informational sessions, and student visits.

· Promote Landon to external and internal audiences; professionally represent and present Landon School ‘s attributes at fairs, public appearances, informational events, and student visits.

· Tour and interview all prospective applicants and their parents/guardians.

· Lead admissions committee work: prepare completed candidate files for review, moderate meeting discussions, and provide follow-up information to committee members as requested.

· Assist in development and delivery of admissions decisions and yield enhancing strategies.

· Pursue professional development opportunities as appropriate to remain current with best practices.

· Support the School and its leadership by embracing and supporting the Landon Mission/Philosophy, core values, and all School policies and procedures.

· Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions or the Head of School including teaching a class, coaching a sport, or mentoring students as part of Landon’s Teacher-Coach-Mentor model.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree plus 2-3 years of work experience, ideally in independent school admissions, or in a role connected to sales and marketing.
• Skillful and persuasive communicator in writing and speech
• Capable manager with a record of success in working collaboratively and productively with others.
• Experience with admission and enrollment databases and other technology including the MS Office suite.
• Able and willing to work a flexible full-time schedule, including evenings and weekends.
