Life Enrichment Program Director

We are looking for an individual who is caring, compassionate, creative and enthusiastic. Someone who can work independently within a memory care and long term care atmosphere. A person who displays a professional attitude with good communication skills; a team player who is able to work well with other departments.

The primary role of the Life Enrichment Program Director is to coordinate and oversee the Life Enrichment process for the residents. This includes specific programming that is both resident centered and follows the residents' plan of care. The position works closely with nursing and other direct caregivers in providing support and guidance in managing behaviors and implmenting resident centers strategies for life enrichment. This position manages the entire activity program in the center and all of its employees, calendars and events. 

Experience working with people living with dementia and/or senior population a plus.

Job description duties include but are not limited to:

  • Implementation of daily scheduled activity programs and special events.
  • Written and verbal communication regarding resident participation.
  • One to one visits with residents, as well as, facilitating large and small group activities.
  • Participation in resident assessments, care planning, and care plan team meetings.
  • Demonstrating the Person Centered Care model, promoting dignity and respect for the residents, families, staff and community.
  • Oversees all life enrichment staff for the entire building and ensures life enrichent activities occur on all floors for all residents based on conditions and plans of care.
  • Acts as a liason facilitating communication between the life enrichment program/lighthouse program, center, councils, famiy members and community.
  • Coordinate completion of preferences for customary routine and activities (section F of MDS) upon admission, annually or with significant change
  • Coordinate completion of preferences for customary routine and activities for the care area assements (CAA)
  • Coordinates the develpment of person-centered care plans for residents and update progress in the quarterly notes
  • Incorporates recommendations from the therapy deparment based on the flobal deteriation scale (GDS) and claudia allen scale
  • Assures delivery of service for each patient according to their indiviualized care plan
  • prepares and publishes a engaging and creative monthly program calendar by the 1st of every month or as appropriate (seasons, holidays, etc.)
  • Assures calendar is sent to MIS director and regional marketing director via email for upload to cneter website by the 1st of every month.
  • Engages and motivates residents resulting in participation
  • Will ensure flexibility for the unstructured moments by committing to learn each resident's unique life story
  • Communicates with the resident's family to understaned the actions and behaviors that cannot be planned for, and develops solutions that work for the resident. 
  • Attends center department manager meetings and lead regulary scheduled program meetings
  • Promotes the program services to local referral sources through active slaes and mareting efforts.
  • Develops tools and materials to assist in meeting the resident' life enrichment needs.
