Our primary markets include industrial, distribution, office, retail, private schools, healthcare, hospitality and senior living construction.What You’ll Do in This Role to Add ValueLandmark Builders seeks a full-time, highly experienced Senior Estimator for its commercial New Construction Division in the Winston-Salem, NC office.

• A senior estimator will be expected to deliver multiple types of estimates, from conceptual to GMP to hard bid, and manage multiple estimates at a time.
• They will have an in-depth knowledge of various construction types and delivery methods and strong organizational and leadership skills.

• Lead and direct estimators in day-to-day tasks of estimating.
• Attend project turnover meetings with the sales team.
• Thoroughly study the plans (including notes and details), read specifications, and/or check specifications when they are received.
• Generate an RFI list as appropriate.
• Set up the project on Pantera with necessary bid documentation.
• Organize a bid team for larger projects if required.
• Assign scope responsibilities to the bid team.
• Verify subcontractor participation.
• Set up General Conditions and tailor GCs for the requirements of each job.
• Take-off and document all items required for pricing in On-Screen Take-off.
• Convert take-offs into MC2 where necessary.
• Set up scope sheets to compare subcontractor quotes and verify that the scope of work and quantities are accurate.
• Compile estimates with subcontractor quotes and necessary takeoffs.
• Compile an estimate book with all necessary documentation, takeoffs and subcontractor quotes.
• Present the completed estimate to the sales team.
• Attend preconstruction meetings.
• Attend post-construction meetings

• Adhere to policies and procedures and show initiative and desire to improve.
• Demonstrate leadership and communication skills to lead and direct estimators in day-to-day estimating tasks.
• Take a lead role in estimates in all of Landmark’s major market segments.
• Take a lead role in estimating / preconstruction services in all of Landmark’s delivery methods; design-build, construction management, negotiated, hard bid, lump sum, and guaranteed maximum price.
• Take a lead role in Regional (out-of-town) projects, prequalifying subcontractors and establishing good sub-coverage and quality estimates.
• Must be able to effectively communicate with clients and design team members to assist sales in gathering information and presenting estimates.
• Schedule and manage multiple estimates, deliver on time, and meet quality expectations.
• Demonstrate understanding of costs of materials, trades, building systems, and building types.
• Demonstrates knowledge of basic construction scheduling and critical path schedule drivers.
• Establish general conditions tailored to meet individual project requirements.
• Understands construction methods, materials, and systems.
• Thoroughly understands how to read plans and specifications.
• Has working knowledge of CSI divisions and how construction projects are priced and bought out.
• Proficient in math and understands how various materials and systems are taken off, quantified, and priced.
• Demonstrates proficiency in working with computer spreadsheet programs (Excel).
• Shows proficiency in learning new software (MC2, On-Screen Take-off, Pantera).
• Must be organized and show attention to detail.
• Must have a thorough understanding of construction documents at varying levels of completeness.
• Required to establish and maintain relationships with the local subcontractor community and maintain a database of subcontractors.
• Understands general conditions, overhead & profit, and how they are applied for a successful construction project (estimate).

• Bachelor’s Degree in construction-related curriculum or equivalent work experience.
• Ten (10) to Fifteen (15) years of experience in commercial construction as an Estimator.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven track record-previous project list, including client/design team info
