This role will be responsible for providing knowledge of dairy powders to support processing and production technologies, finished product quality, and domestic and international sales. Develops and executes strategies for the future of dairy powders at Land O’Lakes by addressing technical issues and advancing foundational knowledge of products within our Dairy Foods portfolio. Key Responsibilities: Support dairy ingredient sales, quality, customer support, and plant manufacturing Identify and/or optimize dairy powder capabilities/properties Develop innovative strategies for addressing complex powder challenges Act as a key knowledge conduit between production, technical sales, and customers Influence product/process design by using more advanced chemical and physical measurements Job scope: Dairy Powder Excellence and Industry leadership: Focused efforts on product quality as impacted by production process. This may include plant production practices and the investigation and resolution of process related issues. Support Global Dairy Ingredients: Participate in customer specification review. Characterize product and process settings for new attributes supporting LOL capabilities. Execution of in-house testing methods as needed. Customer education regarding LOL dairy powders and other business requirements. Address Complex Powder Challenges: Ability to design and execute investigative studies on issues critical to the success of dairy ingredient sales and excellence of Land O Lakes dairy powders. Education/Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Food Chemistry, or related field along with a minimum of 2-4 years relevant work experience in chemistry, dairy powder processing, or related field required. Graduate degree or desire to pursue preferred Skills/Competencies Required: Experience/deep understanding of proteins and biopolymers such as milk powders; science and manufacturing Advanced experimentation capabilities, skills in DOE, and data management tools Influencing and communication skills Experience in providing consultation, guidance, and technical viewpoints to leadership Additional Details: Always teaching others; willingness to share information and present information in a way that others an understand Most successful when on-site and working with the team; must be a strong collaborator Looking for a quick study/fast learner and someone willing to challenge assumptions Some travel required (Travel 10% to 25% of time), may include international travel Land O'Lakes, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE) M/F/Vets/Disabled.
