This role is responsible for conducting process design, cost estimates, design requirements and execution of capital projects more than $5MM. You will work closely with plant management / corporate functions on development of project scope, process design, capital and expense estimates, contractor / vendor selection, equipment specifications and purchases, implementation timeline and coordination of execution plans. $125k - $135k - Salary will be based on experience Job Summary: The individual will provide technical risk assessments related to new product and process development. Will lead and support technical assignments in areas of new product/process development design and product/process improvement. Lead the identification, exploration, development and commercialization of new process technologies. Conducts process capabilities of the assigned processes and develops process specs and tolerance parameters. Assist in the development of project timelines, and detailed start-up plans to facilitate the implementation of capital projects. Provide technical support to operations through application of rigorous trouble shooting techniques and process design. Design and execute experiments and analyze data to make sound technical recommendations on product and process issues. Understands business and anticipates future needs. Identifies and assesses emerging technologies in their primary technical discipline. Participate as an active member of cross functional business teams including Marketing, Operations, R&D, Quality and Purchasing. Coordinates project activities evaluates progress and supports team members in the achievement of tactical project/business objectives. Supports in the communication of results to management as appropriate. Assists in training of manufacturing personnel on key processing equipment. Areas of Responsibility: Champions new ideas and technologies while leading cross functional teams for project execution Works with key manufacturing, R&D, QA, OEM's in troubleshooting process issues and developing technical solutions for improvements in areas of product quality, business profitability and efficiency. Partners with plant management to develop project cost estimates, schedules, and implementation strategies Collaborates closely with other Project Engineers in support of product commercialization, process scale-up, process design and project management. Remains current on new and emerging technologies. Required Experience / Knowledge: B.S or M.S. in Chemical Engineering or related degree and 7 years working in design of process piping/CIP systems and strong preference for manufacturing plant-based work environment. Senior-level Project Leadership experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment managing projects of at least $1 million plus. Solid knowledge and experience with USDA/3A Dairy regulations. Solid planning and organization skills; ability to manage multiple, rapidly changing priorities; focused to achieve business and customer expectations. Competencies-Skills Required: Excellent communication/interpersonal. Experience in performing process capability analysis Proven technical problem-solving ability. Broad knowledge and experience in Dairy process technologies. Able to work in a fast-moving environment. Proactive and results oriented. Solid project management background.
