Part-Time Flex Sanitation Operator

This individual works closely with the sanitation department to complete cleaning and sanitation tasks throughout the plant.

This position is part-time, with a minimum of 25 hours per week and a maximum of 29 hours per week. Must work a minimum of 5-hour blocks between 7 : 00 am and 4 : 00 pm, five days per week.

Location : Melrose, MN

Wage Rate : $24.28 / Hour

Essential Functions / Job Duties :

• Scrub and sanitize drains weekly.
• Clean forklifts.
• Clean and scrub monorail room floor one time daily (midway through production run).
• Clean and scrub other floors throughout facility as needed (shipping hallway).
• Perform general plant cleaning, housekeeping, and sanitation to support the sanitation, GMP, and safety programs.
• Work on GMP action items generated from internal / external audits and the quality department.
• Help with master sanitation when time permits.

Preferred Education :

High School diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience :

• 6 months of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills.

• Maintain prompt and regular job attendance.
• Ability to read and write effectively in English.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications :

• Age : 18 years or older
• Background Check : Applicants must successfully pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check.
• Comprehension : Ability to read, write, comprehend, follow verbal and written instructions, and perform basic math.
• Critical Thinking : Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
• Time Management : Showing up on time, reliably completing tasks by the deadline, and adapting to changes in deadlines and priorities with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements for production positions regularly include :

• Able to lift 50lbs.
• Frequent movement including walking, standing, bending / stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms, lifting, climbing and other active movements.
• Performing duties while wearing personal protective equipment.
• Working across temperature zones that may include cold and / or hot environments for extended periods and may include work in environments where chemicals are present.
