Position Details

  • Job Title Status: Full-Time

Requirements:

  • Completion of 2 years Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • State Licensure.

Supervision:

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant will report directly to the supervising Occupational Therapist, who is responsible for overseeing direct clinical skills, documentation skills, and the compliance to all professional standards. The COTA will report to the Regional Manager for Paid Time Off approval, daily facility and corporate operations.

Job Description:

  • The COTA is responsible for the treatment of residents who demonstrate disorders or neurological deficit, weakness, and paralysis. Evaluation and treatment will only be conducted after a written order is received from the physician.
  • The COTA is responsible for the screening of residents:
  • The COTA is responsible for the completion of all necessary documentation (All documentation will be co-signed by the OTR)
  • The COTA is responsible for attending all required facility meetings and in-services, including Medicare meetings, patient staffings, family meetings, care plans, as required.
  • The COTA will in cooperation with the Supervising OT, develop programs appropriate to the needs of the residents in the facility, to assist them in achieving their highest feasible level of functioning.
  • The COTA will assist the facility in meeting the standards necessary to obtain state, federal, and other appropriate certification.
  • The COTA will employ and follow all appropriate facility infection control policies and procedures and will respect and follow OBRA Resident’s Rights Guidelines.
  • The COTA is responsible for the scheduling and completing of in- services for facility staff education.
  • The COTA will present her/himself in a professional manner at all times including professional conduct, professional communication, and appropriate dress while in the facility.
  • Other duties as assigned
