JOB SUMMARY
The Office Support II position provides customer service to employees, citizens, and vendors. This position also provides clerical support to the staff within the Human Resources Office and serves on the Wellness Team. This position involves not only typical routine clerical duties, but also unique, non-routine duties to support projects of senior staff members. An essential function of Office Support II is the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
The ideal candidate will be able to provide outstanding and consistent customer service. The candidate will be able to efficiently use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PeopleSoft HRMS and possess the ability to design and produce flyers & posters for events.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Maintains current and terminated employee files and data files.
Processes separated employees’ requests for refunds for retirement monies.
Processes personal information changes for active and retired employees and communicates those changes to all vendors relating to the individual’s enrollments.
Assists the Benefits Manager with billing reconciliation, union dues reconciliation, preparing and distributing benefit information as requested. Assists with all phases of employee/retiree open enrollment as requested.
Assists Deputy Director with completion of HR documents & tracking to include unemployment compensation, discipline, grievances, etc.
Assists in document preparation for employee retirement quotations.
Completes and returns employment verification requests, releasing only approved data.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School education or equivalent
Two years minimum experience in clerical and/or customer service field
Two years’ experience in Human Resources preferred
