POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Communications Coordinator plans, executes, and monitors communication strategies in print and digital
collateral that effectively meet the objectives of Lanakila Pacific. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker and
strong copywriter who possesses a knack for storytelling and the ability to design concepts that effectively
communicate inspiring, informative, and engaging messages for our audience. The Communications
Coordinator supports the mission, vision, and values of the organization, and demonstrates Lanakila Pacific’s
values of teamwork, excellence, achievement, and motivation in all personal interactions and upholds and
enforces the guidelines and policies of the organization and exemplifies Lanakila’s STAR service standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position Specific Duties:
Leads the planning, designing, copywriting and completion of a variety of print and digital projects that
support communications, marketing and development/donor relations efforts, including but not limited to
website design, signs, brochures, press releases, corporate reports, newsletters, promotional materials,
advertising and blog.
Conducts and documents interviews with participants, volunteers, donors, etc.
Builds and maintains media library of photos, videos and audio files.
Monitors and maintains accuracy of content displayed on organization’s print and digital branded
materials including but not limited to website, signs, handbooks, brochures and more.
Monitors and maintains accuracy of brand messages on third-party digital and print media.
Seeks opportunities to identify, create and tell narratives that effectively communicate Lanakila Pacific’s
mission to a variety of constituents.
Works closely with other departments to research and develop materials that meet their objectives
while maintaining alignment with the company’s marketing plan and strategy.
Stays up to date on industry trends and make recommendations for adjustments to communications
strategies and practices.
Prepares accurate statistical and fiscal data for required monthly, quarterly, and annual reports,
program planning reports and record correspondence and presentations.
Other Duties:
Works well both independently as well as a collaborative member of a team.
Follows all safety procedure and practices, and that safeguards and proper safety gear, such as gloves,
are used when appropriate.
Follows established work rules, standards of conduct, policies, procedures, and practices.
Performs other related business duties as assigned.
Completes training as mandated by organizational policy.
Demonstrates the ability to work with confidential information and comply with established policies,
procedures, and practices.
Demonstrates a willingness to gain and possess thorough knowledge of Lanakila Pacific’s programs
and seeks ongoing educational opportunities related to the position.
EQUIPMENT USE:
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Database, or comparable programs, social media technology.
Other standard office equipment, i.e., copier, 10-key.
Computer Program Proficiencies: Webflow, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Adobe
InDesign, Constant Contact
WORKING CONDITIONS/HOURS:
Scheduled to work 5 days a week. Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. May be required to work
outside of normal business hours including weekends and holidays to meet operational needs or
contract requirements.
Indoor, office setting, outdoors, travel to other programs and meeting sites as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications or related field
Experience: Minimum of 2 years in marketing, communications or related field
Skills: Print and digital graphic design using Adobe Creative Suite Illustrator or InDesign.
Clearance/Certification: 1) TB clearance, 2) Criminal background check, 3) Pre-employment drug
testing; 4) Child Protective Services/Adult Protective check.
Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract and access to an insured vehicle
